about Mrs. Boayes
Hello First Grade Families! My name is Mrs. Boayes and I am so excited to be your first grade teacher this year. I grew up in nearby Eagle Rock and currently live in the Mt. Washington area. I love spending time with my family - my husband, Quincy, my 4-year old daughter, Zoe, and my 1-year-old son, Oliver. I love being a teacher mom!
I have been an elementary school teacher for 12 years and this is my 6th year teaching at LCE. I love teaching the primary grades and have experience in every grade from Kindergarten through 3rd. I have my M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Reading and am a credentialed Literacy Specialist. I have a passion for teaching, particularly integrating technology into my classroom instruction - I am a Life Long Learner!
If you ask my students what I'm known for they would probably say my love of Hello Kitty, technology, and coffee. I also have high expectations for my students, but try to balance things out with my sense of humor ( I am also known for my laugh. :) I believe that kids can achieve great things when you challenge them and believe in them. My favorite part of teaching 1st grade is the sense of fun and wonder that the kids bring to learning every day.
